Meet Shaun Ghulam is - one man who turned his stutter into his success. the This “2018 Small & Mighty Young Professional of the Year”. He is an influential and inspirational entrepreneur, with extensive experience in the digital media world. Today, he is the CEO and Creative Director of DMINDED, located Downtown Brampton. However, the road to success was far from smooth for Shaun - as he is part of just 1% of the population who stutters.
Shaun’s story is one of a true zero to hero. Shaun’s past was peppered with bullying, negativity, and constant failure. He always saw his stutter as a hurdle in his path. Yet, in the face of adversity, Shaun rose from the ashes -transforming from a struggling young man, equipped with nothing but a dream, to quickly climbing the ladder of entrepreneurial success. He is story was featured on CTV News Toronto on August 31, 2018 with Michelle Dubé. Shaun appeared Friday's “What’s Your Story” segment.
Through sheer hard work and determination, Shaun did what few people with stutters do - fulfilled his dreams. By embracing his stutter, instead of trying to “cure” it, Shaun has created a life of great prosperity for himself and his family. Today, he wants to pay it forward continuing to help others do the same. Shaun has mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs in the GTA area, and has been volunteering his time with the City of Brampton conducting business seminars since 2014.
In 2006, Shaun founded Digital-Minded Inc. at Seneca College, also known as DMINDED. Shaun has been working alongside highly-esteemed start-ups, small businesses, and large corporate brands. Shaun’s mission is to provide a personalized experience and collaborative approach in solving business issues, while proving to others that, with the right “DMIND-set,” anything is possible.
Shaun is well-recognized across the region being an award recipient for the Brampton Board of Trade - Top 40 Under 40. He was also a, 2018 nominee for the Toronto Region Board of Trade Young Professional of the Year and, in 2017, was nominated for a Brampton Board of Trade – Business Excellence Award for Mentorship to name a few.
Beyond all this, Shaun is a proud dad, loving husband, and a die-hard Raptors fan.
